Torrance-South Bay YMCA
The Torrance-South Bay YMCA is searching for dynamic, experienced, hard-working people to be positive role models for youth this summer! Summer Sleep Away Camp takes place at YMCA Camp Whittle on August 3-9, 2025 located in Big Bear, California. The Torrance-South Bay YMCA will be taking a group of youth, grades 3-12, for an incredible week in the mountains. Camping at the Y is all about learning skills, developing character and making friends. Our camps are places where kids become a community as they engage in social, physical and educational activities that teach how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group. Camping teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character and leadership. Online and in-person trainings are mandatory for volunteers. Gain valuable training and hands on experience working with kids in a beautiful outdoor environment. Earn a minimum 100 volunteer service hours while making a difference in the lives of children. “When you change the world of a child, you change the world.”
