Culver-Palms Family YMCA

As part of our new strategic framework as a Center for Community Well-Being, we have scheduled days we call "LA Y Day of Service." While we do have specific themes, as long as we dedicate the day to serving the community our possibilities are endless. As we approach the one-year of the fires across Los Angeles, we like to focus on fire prevention and restoration projects. For our day of service we are partnering with Nature Nexus for their first Habitat Restoration Project of the year. Join the Culver-Palms Family YMCA at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook as we assist Nature Nexus in removing non-native invasive plant species and saving the growing California native vegetation so that the native wildlife may thrive. Our event will be held on Saturday, January 17th from 9:00AM-12:00PM. Nature Nexus will work to provide parking passes and the necessary tools for the project. Please dress in comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in and can protect your skin from getting irritated from the vegetation. Althletic shoes are highly encouraged.
