Westchester Family YMCA
Become a Westchester Family YMCA volunteer and give back to the community! Led by volunteers with support from staff, our Volunteer Service group will choose which community projects to take on. From wetlands clean-ups to supporting local schools, to helping with food distribution, our objective is simple -Give back to the community that has supported the Y for so many years. It’s also a great way to connect with fellow Westchester Y members and those living in and around our community, who share an interest in service and making a positive impact. Commitment: - Give as much time as you have available! You can volunteer for one project or several. Your time, energy and skills are valued! - The Volunteer Service group will meet once per month to discuss what projects you are interested in doing. Join us as much as you can! Meetings will either be in person or virtual. - Refer others who might be interested in volunteering. The more participating, the more impact the group will have in the community. - Have fun! Yes, service work is meaningful and impactful AND it can also be lots of FUN! Be Well! Do Good! Lead Change! Volunteer Next Steps: - Complete Volunteer Matters registration - Complete LiveScan (Fingerprinting) which the YMCA covers the cos. - Complete the CAP training (Child Abuse Prevention) which is required for all Y volunteers and staff. - Sign up to Volunteer under 'Positions'
