Interested in volunteering and using your talents to encourage, guide and train young athletes at the Y? We rely on volunteer coaches to lead our year-round sports leagues. From head coaches to assistants, our volunteers are vital in helping us teach strong Y values through sports. Coaches must be 18 years old. Volunteer for an 7-week season. Program participants are assigned to teams by age (4-13yr old), and skill level. Leagues are a fun and engaging experience for kids to learn lessons of teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play, while applying skills that strengthen their coordination and confidence. Having fun is always our number one goal. Volunteer Responsibilities include: -teaching fundamentals to your team -communicate with parents regarding practices, games, and season updates -be an advocate for and model our four core values (respect, responsibility, honesty and caring) Center
