Westchester Family YMCA

Are you interested in volunteering and using your talents to encourage, guide, and train young athletes at the Y? Our Jr. Clippers Youth Basketball program is offered in partnership with the Clippers, and we depend on volunteers to support our leagues. These volunteers play a vital role in helping us to teach strong Y values through sports. Through positive coaching, our Jr. Clippers Basketball League is not just about the game. It's about building a foundation for life. We teach young athletes the fundamentals of the game, but more importantly, we help them build their confidence, get active, and learn valuable lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership. As a volunteer, you can be a part of this transformative journey for these young athletes. Our Jr. Clippers Basketball league, with various seasons, will run year-round in 2025 and is open to both boys and girls. We ensure that each child participates, regardless of skill level. Volunteering requires a 6-8 week commitment for 2 hours a week per season, with 1 hour for practice and 1 hour for games. You must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer as a Head/Assistant coach, or Team parent. You must be at least 15 year old to volunteer as scorekeeper.
