Workshop Volunteers support the planning, setup, and execution of educational, wellness, and community-focused workshops hosted by the West Valley YMCA. Volunteers play a key role in creating a welcoming, organized, and engaging environment for participants of all ages. Responsibilities may include event setup and breakdown/clean up, participant check-in, assisting presenters, distributing materials, supporting activities, and providing general guidance to attendees. Workshop Volunteers represent the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility while helping deliver meaningful programs that educate, empower, and strengthen our community. This role is ideal for individuals interested in community service, education, health and wellness, or gaining hands-on experience in event support and nonprofit programming. ***MUST BE CLEARED BY LIVESCAN AND COMPLETE TRAINING BEFORE STARTING DATE***
Support Community Education & Engagement Deliver high-quality workshops that provide educational, wellness, and life-skill resources to community members of all ages. Enhance Participant Experience Ensure workshops are welcoming, organized, and accessible by providing consistent volunteer support before, during, and after each event. Increase Community Participation Encourage attendance and repeat participation by creating positive, well-run workshop experiences that reflect the YMCA’s values. Develop Volunteer Skills & Leadership Provide volunteers with hands-on experience in event coordination, customer service, teamwork, and community outreach. Strengthen YMCA Programs & Partnerships Support presenters, staff, and community partners by assisting with logistics and program delivery, allowing workshops to run efficiently. Promote YMCA Core Values Model and reinforce the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all interactions with participants and staff. Ensure Safe & Inclusive Programming Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where all participants feel supported and valued.
